How can I make reservations for this event?

DelSol Strongly recommends that you use one of our authorized sales representatives. DelSol can accept reservations directly for one our sales representatives via our websites or at the DelSol offices in Queens.

How old do I have to be to attend the Montreal Experience?

You must be at least 18 years of age at the time of traveling to Montreal in order to attend. You must 18 years of age or older to Party, Drink & Gamble in Montreal.

What is the deal with the Security deposit?

DelSol must hand over the hotel upon checking in a HUGE cash security deposit for any potential damages to public places located through out the hotel; over the year’s tour escorts would collect $10 per person security deposit however we have now included the security deposit in the price paid so a security deposit will not be collected on the bus.

What is the deal with tipping the bus drivers?

DelSol would request that each person tip the bus drivers that work very hard through out the weekend to insure that you have a blast; some were very generous with their tips and others were well…not so generous, so we have now included the bus driver’s tip within the price of your trip.

Are we responsible for damages within our own rooms during our Montreal Experience?

ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, YES! Each room will be inspected prior to your departure from Montreal. You will have to pay for any damages before departing. Cash is only accepted as form of payment for such damages and if you refuse to pay the police will be called in.

Do I have to present a credit card to the hotel front desk when checking in?

If you purchase a drive up package you will be required to present a major credit card upon checking in. If you purchase a motor coach package you will not be required to present a credit card, however if you require to activate the telephone for long distance calls or use any other in room services the hotel will require you to present a credit card prior to activating any in room services.

If I pay directly to DelSol will my sales representative get the credit for the trip?

Yes! Simply place your representative’s name on the reservation form and he or she will be given proper credit for the sale of your trip.

What is the latest I can make a reservation for this event?

There is a final payment deadline; however DelSol will accept reservations based on availability until 12/25/2007. Any reservation accepted by DelSol after the final payment deadline will incur a price increase and late fee.

Can I still attend if I decide to go last minute?

Do I need a passport to travel to Montreal?

YES, due to the new Homeland Security requirements a VALID US PASSPORT will now be required to travel to and from Canada.

What if I do not get a passport and attempt to travel to Montreal with other ID?

You will be denied boarding on a motor-coach. DelSol will not refund you for this portion on the itinerary. It will be your responsibility to find a way to Canada. If you can't make to Canada you will forfeit all funds. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR UNUSED PARTS OF YOUR TRIP. IT IS YOUR RESPOSIBILITY TO ADHEAR TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE TRIP. YOU ARE LEAVING THE U.S.A AND GOING TO A FOREIGN COUNTRY. YOU MUST FOLLOW THE RULES WHICH ARE DECLARED BY THE U.S.A AND CANADIAN GOVERNMENTS.

What hotel are we staying while in Montreal?

DelSol only utilizes 4 Star hotels or better for the annual Montreal Experience event. The name of the hotel will be disclosed via email approximately 1 week for the date of departure. DelSol guarantees that the hotel utilized will always offer full amenities, restaurants and various services. Hotel is always located in Downtown Montreal, walking distance to many sites, attractions, nightlife and shopping.

Why can't DelSol tell us the name of the hotel in advance?

Due to security concerns DelSol does not release the name of the hotel in advance as per our agreement with the Hotel since this is a very large Student group.

What happens if I decide to switch roommates?

You can switch roommates up to 25 days before trip departure. There is a $50.00 per person fee to switch roommates.

Can I add roommates?

YES you can add roommates to your room as long as there is space in your room and space on the motor-coach if taking a bus package prior to 12/25/2007.

Can I cancel a roommate?

YES. You can cancel a roommate; however each remaining person(s) in that room will have to pay the higher rate. For instance if there were (4) persons in the room and after cancelling there are now (3) persons in the room, the room has changed from a quad to a triple.

What happens if I cancel within the 35 days and have a friend to replace me?

You can replace yourselves with a friend for a $50.00 name change fee up to 25 days before trip departure and at the discrepancy of DelSol. DelSol reserves the right to cancel the reservation completely if it deems necessary.

What if I cancel within 35 days of departure and have no replacement?

You will receive NO REFUND.

Can I pay by personal check?

NO, personal checks are not accepted. DelSol has made this policy due to the high rate of rubber checks presented to DelSol in the past :).

Can I pay by cash?

DelSol suggests that you pay via a money order so as to insure the secure and safe processing of your transaction. You can pay by cash if your ski representative agrees to accept the responsibility of handling your cash. Cash is also accepted if paying directly to the DelSol office.

Can I pay via credit card?

Yes you can pay via credit card. DelSol accepts Visa, MasterCard, AMERICAN EXPRESS, DISCOVER or Pay Pal for payment. Your reservation is not completed until the payee submits to DelSol requested material as stated on our booking forms.

Can I use a third party credit card? In other words my parents or my friends credit card?

YES you can as long as that person is traveling along with you, their credit card can be used to pay for your trip. Reservation isn't completed with such payment unless payee submits to DelSol requested material as stated on our booking forms. Your parent’s credit card can be used, however in addition to your parents submitting the documents required via fax, we would need to speak to them to verify the usage of their credit card.

Can 1 person make the payments for all 3 of his/her roommates with 1 credit card?

Yes this can be done, however reservation is not completed with only making payment since payee must submit to DelSol requested material as stated on our reservation form.

Can I pay via credit card over the phone?

NO, due to security concerns DelSol does not accept payments over the phone. Credit card payments are only accepted via our secure websites.

Why do you need a copy of my credit card?

World Pay our credit card processor requires us to keep a copy of the credit card on file and verify that the card holder is the one making the transaction.

Why do I need to provide a copy of my identification for credit card transactions?

For your security we have to verify that it is actually you that is using your credit card and not someone else. This is why we require a photo copy of your identification in order to process the reservation.

Where do I fax the completed reservation form(s), credit card agreement, copy of credit card and driver’s license?

Where can I find a ski reservation form?

A ski reservation form can be found on the home pages of either www.Montrealx.com or www.Urbansurfing.com. The form is located in the top left margin of home pages.

What time do the buses leave?

Buses depart between 5:30am and 6:30am. Please check with your representative for your bus information. DelSol will also send a final confirmation only via email notifying you of your bus departure number and time 48 hours prior to your departure.

Where do the motor coaches depart from?

The motor coaches depart from Astoria Queens, Bayridge Brooklyn, Rutgers University, Montclair State University & various other spots.

What happens if I arrive late to the departure point and miss the bus?

If you miss the bus, you miss the bus; we can not delay a motor coach with over 50 people on it. You will be responsible to get your own transportation to Montreal and we can then provide you with a ride back on your motor coach.

Why is there a DelSol Tour Escort on each bus?

DelSol requires that there is one DelSol representative on each bus to insure that there is a safe and orderly ride up to Montreal. In addition the Tour Escort represents DelSol and the passengers at the US/Canadian border, as well as assist with the check in process at the hotel for your entire bus.

What happens if we do not listen to or respect our Tour Escort?

The tour escort is the bus leader and must be respected at all times. He/She is there to help you have a GREAT Weekend and make sure that we all get up to Montreal and return home safely, so please keep this in mind. The Tour escort reserves the right to have anyone who does not cooperate or respect the laws of the USA and/or Canada removed from the motor coach. If need be they will call the State Police to help make this happen. Since this trip has begun over 10 years ago only a handful of clients have been removed and have been left to get their own transportation and not receive a refund.

Can I bring my own alcohol on the bus?

You can bring your own alcohol as long as you do not exceed the legal amount allowed with you when crossing the border and you are of the legal age to purchase alcohol. Hotel(s) do not allow glass bottles and only plastic bottles are allowed. Hotel security will confiscate any glass bottles and they will be returned to you at the end of your stay.

Can I bring drugs on the bus?

Although the answer should be fairly obvious, the answer is NO. DRUGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THIS TRIP since they are illegal. If caught with drugs you will be arrested at the boarder. Keep in mind that you are crossing a border and will be clearing customs prior to entering a different country when traveling to Montreal. Drug sniffing dogs have been known to inspect motor coaches at the boarder.

Can I smoke cigarettes on the bus?

NO you can not. Cigarette smoking is not allowed on a motor coach. It is illegal as per federal laws which regulate motor coaches in the USA. Bus drivers reserve the right to have you removed from motor coach.

How many times do we stop on the ride up to Montreal?

The bus will make two stops. One stop will be at a major rest stop, and the second place will be for gas, when near the border.

*Why aren’t we stopping anymore at Duty Free?

The reason we are no longer stopping at Duty Free is because all the busses pile up at duty free. Then when we are at the border, and the Canadian customs see 9-10 busses piled up, they realize it’s a group. Upon entering the first bus, they see young kids and they decide to give everyone a hard time. Therefore all the buses wait, and the last bus leaves the borderline 5-6 hours later. When they don’t stop at duty free, each bus arrives at the border at its own pace, and clears the border within a couple of minutes.

There are multiple liquor stores, as well as a supermarket; around the area.

Under what conditions may I be denied entry at the border?

You may be denied entry at the border under the following conditions: Prior conviction of a DWI or a DUI - Pending warrant for your arrest – Prior criminal record – If you are currently on probation – If you are physically impaired at the border – Possession of drugs (in which you will also be arrested) – invalid passport

We use Mt Tremblant for skiing and Saint Sauveur for our day of tubing.

Where can I exchange money?

You can exchange money in the USA prior to your departure or at the reception area of your hotel. DelSol recommends that you exchange at one of the numerous exchange locations on St. Catherine Street, walking distance to your hotel.

Can we smoke in the rooms?

Hotel rooms are designated smoking or non-smoking rooms. There is limited amount of smoking rooms due to stricter non-smoking regulations. Hotel management reserves the right to charge a cleaning fee for any room found smoking if not permitted to do so.

What happens if there is a problem with the hotel management and my room mates?

DelSol provides a safe, secure and fun environment for all those attending to enjoy themselves, however the rules of the hotel and the laws of Montreal must be respected. Security does it's best to keep the peace, however if there is a persistent problem with you or your roommates, you will be removed from the hotel by management.

Why do you have security on the hotel premises?

Security is on the hotel premises to provide a safe and secure environment for all to enjoy themselves through out the Montreal Experience. Security is also necessary to make sure that we leave the hotel as we have initially found it; in one piece.

What are the prices for the ski lift tickets, tubing and ski equipment?

Can I pay in advance for skiing and tubing?

NO. Payment for these features can only be made on the bus or at the lobby of the hotel at the DELSOL/MTL information desk.

Will my security deposit refunded to me upon check out?

No. Security deposit will mailed to all those who paid a security deposit with 30 days of your return. The amount of such security deposit will be determined after all damages are assessed by hotel management. The group is responsible for all damages done to the public places of the hotel. Damage to individual rooms is the responsibility of those occupying the said room.

If a family member or I get hospitalized within 24 hours prior to the departure and cannot attend, will I get a refund?

Refund will be issued only if DelSol deems a refund is due; each claim for a refund will be handled on a case by case basis. You must submit a photocopy of a hospital bill and documentation from a physician explaining why you could not travel to Montreal.

If there’s a death in the immediate family within 24 hours prior to the departure, thus not being able to attend, will I get a refund?

DelSol is a compassionate entity and we will deal compassionately when deaths occur in the immediate family, however a photocopy of the death certificate will be required in order to issue a full refund. DelSol has been organizing events for over a dozen years and occasionally we encounter an individual that will create any excuse in order to secure a last minute refund.
